I (Steve) am a huge Lord of The Rings fan (it is the best book ever written). When Lia came to me with a possible wedding date of September 22nd, here’s the conversation we had:
Lia: “How about September 22nd?”
Steve: “Do you know what day that is?” <quivering with excitement>
Lia: “Our possible wedding day?”
Steve: “Yes, but it’s also the Baggins Birthday! Frodo and Bilbo’s birthday!”
Lia: <inaudible muttering>
It suffices to say that I was forbidden to mention hobbits, the Shire, or Rings of Power on our wedding day. And complied.
My groomsmen did not get the message, and left us a fitting tribute. ☺
